Cambodia's prime minister says his country suffered worse than tsunami
Cambodia's prime minister says while he's shocked by the Asian tsunami, his country suffered far worse under Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot.
Hun Sen says the size of the suffering brought by the tsunami is less than 10 percent of Cambodia's suffering during the Pol Pot regime.
Pol Pot oversaw the deaths of up to two million Cambodians during the 1975-79 reign of his Khmer Rouge.
Speaking after returning from the global conference on tsunami aid in Jakarta, the prime minister said the world should help Cambodia too.
Last month, international donors pledged 504 million U-S dollars in aid to poverty-ridden Cambodia for 2005, despite complaints it needed to do more to tackle rampant corruption.
